Please join us Tuesday evenings at 7 PM for Dartball. Dartball is a game similar to baseball in which the runner advances the bases to score, but instead of a bat and a ball, darts are thrown at a baseball diamond on a board. Hits, runs, strikes and errors are recorded as each team tries to score the most runs and win. These weekly meetings are open to all of our members and visitors as a good time for young and old alike. If you have any questions please ask Mr. Everett Jung for more information.
Love to sing? Then consider joining the LUTHERAN FESTIVAL CHORUS. Rehearsals for the December 13 concerts will begin September 20, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1610 Main St., Crete, IL. If you are a confirmed member of a WELS or ELS congregation and are interested in singing with the Chorus this season, or if you would like more information, please call Sonja Hummel-Dick at 708-672-5402, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We're also on Facebook--just type "Lutheran Festival Chorus" in the search bar.
The Wisconsin Lutheran institutional ministries or WLIM is an organization within our Synod responsible for bringing the good news of Christ to those who were institutionalized. This includes those who are hospitalized in areas far from home and in need of pastoral care as well as those who are in jail or prisons. At present our Synod’s prison ministry reaches over 30,000 inmates bringing them the word of God and the comfort of knowing Christ died for their sins as well as ours. Please mark October 18th as WLIM Sunday. Our guest speaker will be Pastor Phil Merten, whose ministry involves working with inmates as well as counseling those with drug and alcohol addictions. Pastor Merten will also conduct the Bible Class following the service.
With the coming of fall and winter our quilting ladies will soon be up and running again. If you are interested in helping out with making quilts for the poor and needy, either experienced or novice, please speak to Sandy Runholt. The ladies usually meet twice a month on Thursday afternoons. More information will follow the exact times and dates.
